My interview with Joe Gelonesi forms the second half of this short program on ABC Radio National’s The Philosopher’s Zone. Joe is speaking with Audra Mitchell (University of York) in the first half.
“It’s said that we’re in the sixth mass extinction, and that if predictions hold true we’ll see the end of many species within the next few centuries. So—bleak as it may be—some serious thinking is going onto make visible a terrifying prospect. But is the basic concept of what it means to become extinct misunderstood? The answer is not what we might think and may even be beyond a simple matter of life and death.”
